Combine the VX21 leg vise with the X Link scissors parallel guide and get unbeatable performance. Quick action and no bending over to adjust a pin in a guide board. Add a drill guide to the X Link to make drilling deep holes without a drill press easier. You can also customize your Hovarter Custom Leg Vise by adding a round profile polished rim metal handwheel, a turned finish square profile metal handwheel or a very traditional wooden hub and handle. Some customers make their own wooden hub and handle to put a personal touch on the vise.
VX20 Instructions
The Hovarter Custom Vise VX 20 is a revolutionary new quick action vise mechanism that may be used as a face vise or leg vise. The VX 20 utilizes a special clutch mechanism to allow the vise jaw to be quickly positioned against the workpiece. When the clamp handle is turned the clutch simultaneously grips the clamp shaft and securely tightens the vise jaw against the workpiece. When the clamp handle is turned to unclamp the clutch releases and the vise jaw is again free to slide in and out.
X Link Instructions
The Hovarter Custom Vise X Link is a modern adaptation of the nineteenth century original. We have used modern materials and added improvements to make it function better and ease installation. When used with the VX 20 vise you will have an extremely smooth, quick action pin-less leg vise. The X Link mechanism is designed and precision CNC machined to provide exact parallelism between the vise jaw and the vise leg.
VX20F Instructions
The Hovarter Custom Vise VX20F is a revolutionary new quick action vise mechanism based off of the popular VX20 leg vise. The VX20F utilizes a special clutch mechanism to allow the vise jaw to be quickly positioned against the workpiece. The two separate vise mechanisms operate in unison by a unique rack bar which travels against the bottom of the bench top. When either clamp handle is turned the clutches simultaneously grip the clamp shafts and securely tightens the vise jaw against the workpiece. When the clamp handle is turned to unclamp the clutch releases and the vise jaw is again free to slide in and out. A work piece may be clamped anywhere between the two clamp shafts without racking.
VX20W Instructions
The Hovarter Custom Vise VX20W is a revolutionary new quick action vise mechanism based off of the popular VX20 leg vise. The VX20W utilizes a special clutch mechanism to allow the dog block to be quickly positioned by sliding along the clamp shaft to allow a workpiece to be clamped to the bench top. Additionally, a workpiece may be clamped vertically between the dog block and the end of the shaft. The vise is easy to install with one end of the clamp shaft installed in a bearing mounted in the bench end cap and the other end secured in a bearing and bracket assembly to the bottom of the bench top.
